Your Guide to Preparing for Overseas Work
Leaving home to work abroad is a big step, at Layag PH, we’re helping you process your applications faster, but we also want to make sure you know everything you need to know after you pass your interviews. From recruitment to departure, we've got you covered with all the essential preparations you need to make.

01Attend PEOS
- The Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) is your first step. Conducted by the POEA, it’s available at their main office or regional offices. This seminar will give you valuable insights and help you prepare for your journey.

02Submit Your Application and Requirements
- Gather and submit all the necessary documents: personal data sheets, transcripts, diplomas, certificates of employment, board and training certificates (if applicable), your passport, and 2"x2" photos.

03Preliminary Interview and Evaluation
- Attend a pre-application orientation with your recruiter or local agent to learn about the job offer. If you meet the job qualifications, you’ll move on to testing and interviews.

04Medical and Trade Testing
- If selected, you’ll undergo a medical examination at an accredited clinic and possibly trade testing at a TESDA-accredited center. This ensures you’re fit and ready to work.

05Review and Sign Your Contract
- Once you pass the medical and trade tests, you’ll review and sign your employment contract. Make sure to read and understand all the terms before signing or paying any fees. Always get a receipt for any payments.

06Processing Your Documents
- Your agency will handle the processing with the following entities: ◦ Foreign Embassy: For visa issuance and stamping ◦ POEA: For registration, documentation, and issuance of your e-Receipt or Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) ◦ DFA: For translation and authentication of documents if needed ◦ Airline: For booking certificates or Pre-paid Ticket Advice (PTA)

07Attend PDOS
- Before you leave, attend the mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS). This seminar will provide crucial information for your journey.

08Airport Procedures
- At the airport, visit the POEA-Labor Assistance Center to validate your documents before proceeding with other departure procedures. By following these steps, you’ll be well-prepared for your new adventure abroad. We’re here to help you every step of the way, ensuring you find the right job through the right agencies.
